Job summary

Qualifications

• Leadership experience supervising trades or skilled workers.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Commitment to safety rules, university policies, and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assigning and directing work; evaluate performance and train staff.
• Verify and approve material requisitions; manage paperwork.
• Procure supplies from vendors; monitor inventory levels and records.
• Plan work, maintain records, inspect progress and results.
• Perform duties of skilled trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
• Acquire knowledge of chemicals, environmental concerns, codes, and new techniques; enforce safety rules.
• Read and interpret drawings to ensure code compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
