Job summary

Jobot is recruiting a 2nd Shift Maintenance Lead in Romeoville, IL for a fast-paced food manufacturing operation. You will lead maintenance activities, diagnose and repair high-speed packaging equipment, and support safety and reliability across a 24/7 facility.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical/electrical systems, and experience with PLCs and electrical schematics. Expect a collaborative team, cross-functional training, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Food manufacturing experience (USDA or FDA environments).
• Experience with high-speed packaging and conveyor systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and PLCs.
• Read electrical schematics and perform preventive maintenance.
• Strong safety focus (LOTO, OSHA).
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities and support the Maintenance Manager in daily operations.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair high-speed packaging and processing equipment.
• Electrical troubleshooting (110/230/460V systems, motors, relays, panels, wiring) and PLCs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and schedule work orders.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor programming on PLC systems.
• Maintain conveyors, wrappers, check-weighers, cartoners, and case packers.
• Train employees on equipment safety, lifts, and welding practices.
• Coordinate and monitor contractors performing maintenance or repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards including LOTO and OSHA guidelines.
