Job summary

Mykelly in Romeoville, IL is seeking a Maintenance Lead on 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM). You will assist the Maintenance Manager, coordinate activities during the absence of the Supervisor, and ensure safe, reliable operation of production equipment in a USDA-regulated food facility.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, leadership to train maintenance staff, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

USDA/FDA food manufacturing environment experience required.
Strong troubleshooting for industrial equipment.
Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret control drawings.

Responsibilities

Lead and support the maintenance team during 2nd shift operations.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to minimize downtime.
Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
Respond quickly to equipment issues to keep production running efficiently.
Maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Repair and maintain building systems including lighting, plumbing, and general facility needs.
Read electrical schematics and perform basic PLC troubleshooting.
Coordinate maintenance projects and oversee outside contractors when needed.
Train and mentor maintenance staff on equipment operation and workplace safety.
Promote a safe work environment by following and enforcing safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout.
Work closely with Production, Sanitation, and Operations teams to support daily manufacturing goals.
Ensure equipment and facilities meet USDA, OSHA, and company safety standards.
Assist with wastewater operations as needed.
Complete additional maintenance and facility projects as assigned.
