Job summary

Confident Search Consultants is seeking a Lead Packaging Maintenance Mechanic for a high-speed food production plant in DuPage County, Illinois. This on-site role supports multiple production lines and drives preventive maintenance, repair, and reliability improvements.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years in fast-paced packaging maintenance, strong electrical troubleshooting, and hands-on coaching ability. CMMS experience and a technical background are preferred; overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of maintenance experience in high-speed food packaging/manufacturing.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting ability; no full electrician credentials required.

Responsibilities

• Keep high-speed packaging and processing equipment running across a large plant.
• Rebuild and refurbish machinery during planned and emergency downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults on baggers, sealers, scales and supporting equipment; fix without waiting for help.
• Handle electrical troubleshooting and repairs on the lines.
• Coach junior technicians and pass along knowledge.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks and log work in CMMS.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering on improvements.
