Job summary
Hire Consulting Services seeks a Lead Packaging Maintenance Mechanic to support high-speed food production lines in a DuPage County, IL plant. This is a senior role with a modern facility investing in maintenance, including a new CMMS rollout.
The position requires 5–10+ years of maintenance experience in high-speed food packaging, strong electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to coach junior technicians. On-site work with multiple shifts and overtime is available.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of maintenance experience in high-speed food packaging or related; not entry level.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting ability; no full electrician credentials required.
- Experience maintaining and rebuilding packaging machinery such as baggers, form-fill-seal, and sealers.
- Familiarity with common packaging and weighing brands is a plus.
- CMMS experience preferred; coaching less experienced technicians.
Responsibilities
- Keep high-speed packaging and processing equipment running across a large, multi-line plant.
- Rebuild and refurbish machinery to like-new condition during planned and emergency downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults and fix them without waiting for help.
- Handle electrical troubleshooting and repairs on the lines as part of daily work.
- Teach and mentor junior technicians on the floor.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and log all work in the CMMS.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering on improvement projects.
