Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX business, is seeking a second‑shift certified operator in Maine. You will learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, verify conformance with precision instruments, and obtain operator certification to accept or reject parts.

The program includes a 3‑week training period and 4‑8 weeks of on‑the‑job training, with a Monday–Thursday schedule (3:30pm–1:30am). This onsite role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• Ability to compute decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTC’s to perform routine production operations.
• Learn to work from operation sheets and travelers to set up equipment for grinding, turning, facing, boring and chamfering.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines by performing total preventive maintenance (TPM).
