Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, ME seeks a Weekend Shift trainee to learn NC milling and grinding operations as part of an entry-level certification path. The role runs Fri-Sun, 6:00am-6:30pm, totaling 36 hours paid as 40 hours, with a 3-week training plus 4-8 weeks on-the-job training.

Employees will gain skills to operate milling/grinding equipment, read operation sheets, and verify parts to spec, with opportunities for advancement and certification as an operator.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTC’s to perform routine production operations.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Learn to obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Learn to maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).
