Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, ME, is seeking a 3rd shift Certified Operator to learn setup and operation of NC milling/grinding machines, with a structured training path and on-the-job coaching.

The program includes a 3-week training and 4–8 weeks of on-the-job training, enabling you to work with engineers, QA, and production staff to resolve machining issues while maintaining TPM and ensuring parts meet specifications.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to compute decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTC’s to perform routine production operations on a variety of similar weldments and assemblies.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Learn to maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Work collaboratively with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems.
