Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, ME is seeking a CNC machinist for the 2nd shift in the Machining Department. Hours are 3:30pm–1:30am, Mon-Thu (4x10). Training on 1st shift will precede the new shift assignment.

No relocation offered. Responsibilities include setting up and operating NC milling machines and vertical turrets, following blueprints and travelers, and verifying conformance with precision tools.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• 1+ years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+years related experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC milling machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs to perform routine production operations on weldments and assemblies.
• Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to set up equipment for turning, facing, boring and chamfering operations involving a limited number of surfaces to be machined.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain Operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Work with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development.
