Job summary

Valmont Industries in Elkhart, IN is hiring for a 3rd shift maintenance position focused on repairing, maintaining and improving industrial equipment in our facility. You will work in a safety-focused team, follow procedures and LEAN practices to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and blueprints; extensive overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Relevant industry experience.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English in order to complete necessary paperwork requirements.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and basic mechanical drawings.
• Ability to read tape measures and other measurement devices.
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
• The ability to work over ten hours a week in overtime when required for business needs, including weekends.
• Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Adhere by Safety Absolutes – Job Safety Briefings on Non-Standard Work.
• Verify we have communicated to production and have the permits required to safely complete the repair.
• Follow Arc Flash requirements, which are pertinent to the job.
• Basic knowledge of low voltage circuits and repairs.
• Assist with the completion of PM’s and general maintenance repairs and projects, under supervision.
• Lead LEAN Manufacturing activities.
• Support Safety throughout the plant by reporting and repairing abnormal conditions and safety hazards.
