Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Elkhart, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician for first shift to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities. The role involves repairs, fabrication of fixtures, installation of new equipment, and ongoing improvements to maintenance processes.

Candidates should have welding experience, knowledge of pneumatics/hydraulics, and the ability to read blueprints. The position requires OT, weekend work, and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Six to nine years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
• Associates degree in industrial maintenance or equivalent years of experience.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics or electrical applications.
• Read and interpret safety rules, drawings and maintenance docs.
• Experience welding on steel and aluminum.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities.
• Repair worn parts, straighten and fabricate fixtures.
• Install new equipment and perform major repairs as scheduled.
• Seek efficiencies and continuous improvements within maintenance.
• Work overtime and on-call as required; respond to emergencies.
• Read drawings and use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment.
