Job summary

Valmont is seeking a Machine Operator 5 to operate precision machinery according to shop drawings and process specifications. You will load programs, monitor quality, and maintain traceability while contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role reports to the Production Supervisor and requires hands-on machine operation, safe work practices, and teamwork to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Two to four years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32".
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated safety awareness and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand-held grinder to finish small part components.
• Load machine programs and process material per shop drawings.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and resolve errors.
• Maintain material traceability and quality.
• Support lean, 5S and general housekeeping in the plant.
