Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Elkhart, IN, is seeking a 2nd shift welder with MIG welding experience to join our fabrication team. The role involves welding structural components for towers and signs, reading blueprints, and maintaining welding equipment in a safe, productive environment.

Qualifications

• The ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.
• Basic working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook or similar email software.
• Three to Five years of MIG welding experience in a production environment.
• Multi-pass, stack layering welding experience.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes (preferred).
• Read weld symbols and understand blueprints.
• Read a tape measure accurately.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Maintain positive interaction with coworkers and follow safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Fuse or weld metal components by GMAW welding per blueprints.
• Plan operation sequence from blueprints or written specs.
• Utilize safety devices and wear PPE.
• Adjust welding equipment settings as prescribed.
• Maintain and operate welding tooling and fixtures safely.
• Read labor reporting systems and blueprints for schedules.
• Other duties as required or assigned.
