Job summary

Valmont Industries in Elkhart, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 1st shift. You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment including hydraulic presses, welders, cranes, and other machinery, reading blueprints and safety rules, and coordinating activities with other departments.

The role requires 6–9 years of experience in industrial maintenance, an associate degree or equivalent, and ability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
• Associates degree in industrial maintenance, engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics or electrical applications.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Outlook).
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical/hydraulic diagrams.
• Welding experience (arc and wire feed) on steel and aluminum.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and be on-call.
• Must be able to operate forklift after training.
• Team player with strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities.
• Repair worn parts and fabricate fixtures; assist with new equipment installation.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Support manufacturing demands including off-peak hours.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours requests.
