Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Holland, MI is seeking a 2nd shift forklift operator to move and stack materials, support production flow, and ensure safe handling of loads. You will operate forklifts, weigh and inventory materials, and assist in daily plant duties while upholding safety standards.

The role requires basic English, a high school diploma or GED, and willingness to work up to 12 hours per day, including weekends. Prior material handling and HILO driving experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English for safety procedures and work instructions.
• One month related experience or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Previous material handling experience preferred.
• Previous Hilo driving experience preferred.
• Maintains high standards of performance and integrity.
• Resolves conflicts constructively through listening and collaboration.
• Keeps plant flow in mind and supports cross-area movement.

Responsibilities

• Observes and complies with safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
• Attends scheduled training and educational programs for the position.
• Supports continuous improvement activities and independent auditing when requested.
• Stops work on processes as needed to contain defective materials or services.
• Operates forklift to move, lift, and position loads safely.
• Positions forks or lifting devices under pallets and transports loads to designated areas.
• Unloads and stacks materials; supplies workers with needed materials.
• Inventories materials on the work floor and records weights and locations.
• Loads/unloads materials onto pallets and lifting devices.
• Recharges batteries or replaces LPG tanks as required.
