Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Yard & Dock Coordinator on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00pm–11:30pm) in Manassas, VA. The role focuses on safe, efficient trailer movement and dock operations while partnering with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Strong communications skills for daily customer-facing and cross-functional work.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrains.
• Familiarity with dock safety, processes, and escalation protocols.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support of hand tools and dock-related equipment as required.
• Serve as primary contact for loading and unloading dock activities and coordinate trailer movements.
• Manage sequencing of trailer docking, release, and yard flow with knowledge of trailer anatomy.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work when unsafe conditions are identified; follow escalation procedures.
• Partner with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams daily.
• Communicate professionally with internal/external stakeholders with a strong customer service mindset.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines, safety standards, and site SWIs; complete tasks.
• Support dock/yard organization per 7S workplace standards.
• Conduct regular visual inspections and maintain high observational awareness to identify risks.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity, updates, and issues.
