Job summary

GXO Logistics Worldwide, LLC is seeking a Yard & Dock Coordinator for the Weekend 3rd Shift (Friday–Monday, 10:00pm–9:00am) in Bristow, VA. This hands-on leadership role partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely trailer movements.

The position emphasizes operational discipline, accountability, and top-tier customer service as part of a dynamic logistics team at GXO.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock/yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking and release procedures.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock-related equipment.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Manage docking, release, and yard flow per safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate unsafe situations.
• Partner with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams daily.
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders and maintain customer service mindset.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and site SWIs; complete tasks.
• Support dock and yard organization following 7S principles.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify risks or delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and peers.
