Job summary

CHEP Services, LLC in the United States is seeking a maintenance technician for 2nd shift (3:30pm–12:00am) to perform proactive and reactive maintenance on industrial conveyance equipment. You will read schematics, troubleshoot motors, VFDs, PLCs, and sensors, and ensure safety and documentation standards are met.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience in industrial machine maintenance, can work in tight spaces and at heights, and are familiar with CMMS and OSHA/LOTO procedures.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical components (motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors).
• Preventative and corrective maintenance on conveyance equipment.
• Ability to access tight spaces, climb steps, and work at heights.
• Proficient with MS Office and internet applications.
• Knowledge of OSHA and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

• Perform proactive and reactive maintenance activities with a multi-skilled approach, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed.
• Support reliability initiatives by identifying failure modes, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
• Assist in scheduling and executing maintenance tasks with proper documentation of work orders and records.
• Seek opportunities to improve maintenance processes and procedures to enhance plant performance and reliability.
• Conduct risk assessments for tasks to ensure equipment and personnel safety.
• Prioritize health and safety, product quality, and environmental protection in all maintenance activities.
