Job summary

CHEP Plant Careers in Wilmington, MA is seeking an Automation Technician for the 2nd shift to support maintenance on conveyors, motors, VFDs, PLCs and sensors. You will follow safety rules and CMMS documentation to keep equipment reliable and production moving.

The role requires 3–5 years in industrial machine maintenance and ability to read schematics, with experience in RSLogix 5000, Ethernet/IP and robotics systems (Yaskawa, Fanuc or Kuka).

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in industrial machine maintenance.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
• Experience with motors, variable frequency drives, PLCs and field sensors.
• Knowledge of OSHA and electrical safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform proactive and reactive maintenance on conveyors, motors, pumps and machines.
• Identify failure modes and apply corrective actions to improve equipment performance.
• Document work orders and tasks in CMMS to maintain maintenance records.
• Assist scheduling and execution of maintenance tasks to ensure plant reliability.
• Conduct risk assessments to ensure safety of equipment and personnel.
