Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a Controls Technician to support a large commercial bakery in Swedesboro, NJ. You will maintain, troubleshoot and optimize plant-wide electrical, automation and process control systems on high-speed lines, providing technical leadership to Electro-Mechanics across shifts.

The role requires heavy emphasis on PLCs, drives, networks, and documentation, with training duties and a focus on reliability, uptime and continuous improvement in a GMP environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with extensive industrial controls, automation, or electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, work orders, operating manuals and maintenance instructions.
• Experience with machine layouts, control drawings, P&IDs, diagram interconnections and distributed control systems.
• Proficiency with Rockwell AB, Siemens and Mitsubishi programming, configuration, and troubleshooting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
• Desirable Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in food/bakery or continuous process manufacturing is a plus.
• CMMS experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize plant electrical, automation, and process control systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical and controls-related equipment failures.
• Train and coordinate Electro-Mechanics across all shifts.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for PLCs, drives, networks, and production equipment.
• Maintain electrical schematics, control programs, system configurations and equipment documentation.
• Support plant utility systems including steam, refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, water and power distribution.
• Follow GMP, safety, quality, and regulatory standards and drive continuous improvement.
