Job summary

Colonna’s Shipyard, Inc. in Norfolk, VA seeks a 2nd Class Services Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, repair, and installation on ship systems. You will work with senior mechanics, follow blueprints, and utilize hand and power tools to ensure reliable shipyard services.

The role requires 3+ years of mechanical experience, physical capability to lift and work in confined spaces, and willingness to travel occasionally. Onsite work in Norfolk with a competitive pay range and benefits.

Qualifications

Must have at least 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in a marine or shipyard environment.
Knowledge of mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation on shipboard systems.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical systems and shipboard equipment.
Assist in installation of new mechanical systems and components per specifications and blueprints.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems using diagnostic tools.
Follow blueprints, schematics, and drawings to guide work.
Work with senior mechanics to assemble, disassemble, and replace components.
Use a wide range of hand and power tools with accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate with team and other trades to complete projects on time.
