Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking a Failure Analysis Equipment Technician to provide rapid response to tool alarms and maximize uptime in a high-volume semiconductor lab. You will diagnose issues using SOPs, assist with new tool installation, and collaborate with engineers on improvements, safety, and equipment recipes.

The role includes preventive maintenance, tool hookup, inventory control, and interaction with Facilities for utilities, with a shift pattern supporting 24/7 operations at our Phoenix

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in a science field.
• Basic PC skills (MS Windows OS and MS Office) and familiarity with maintenance/inventory tracking.
• Hands-on experience in a semiconductor cleanroom or high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical drawings, blueprints, instrument specifications, and P&ID diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventive maintenance activities on laboratory failure analysis equipment (FIB, TEM, SEM, SIMS, OM).
• First-line tool troubleshooting and escalation to minimize downtime; document failures for escalation.
• Coordinate lab construction startups, inspect field construction, and liaise with facilities and contractors.
• Assist in tool hookup, commissioning, and SITE ACCEPTANCE TESTING with vendors and FAC teams.
• Manage consumables and spare parts inventory using LIMS and maintenance systems.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and production/analysis support as needed.
• Maintain 6S housekeeping and follow EH&S and security requirements.
