Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking a Failure Analysis Technician to perform precise failure analysis on leading-edge semiconductor devices. You will operate advanced analytical tools, prepare samples, and document findings to ensure product quality and drive process improvements.

The role requires handling chemicals safely, working in a cleanroom environment, and supporting Fab manufacturing with on-call responsibilities. On-site in Phoenix, with 12-hour shifts and a compressed work week.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.S.) from a Science/Engineering/Technology program, or related field.
• Basic PC skills (MS Windows OS and MS Office).
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; strong team collaboration.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate Dual-Beam FIB to prepare TEM samples or conduct materials analysis (e.g., SIMS & XPS) and SEM imaging.
• Operate TEM for imaging, analysis, and reporting.
• Prepare TEM samples including site marking, de-layering, coatings, and pre-treatments.
• Handle chemicals safely following PPE protocols.
• Collect, organize, and report data to customers.
• Assist engineers with development of analytical methods.
• Maintain 6S lab housekeeping and protocols.
• Support Fab operations and on-call schedule.
