Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking a Failure Analysis Equipment Technician to respond rapidly to tool alarms, diagnose issues per SOPs, and minimize downtime in a high-volume 24/7 facility. You will assist with new tool installation, startup, and coordination with engineers on improvement projects while supporting daily production needs.

The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to read technical drawings, and teamwork to ensure equipment availability.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (A.A.S.) or Bachelor’s (BS) in Science (Mechanics, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical Technology, Electronics, Vacuum Technology, Materials Science or related field).
• Basic PC skills (MS Windows OS and MS Office) required.
• Familiarity with maintenance and inventory tracking preferred.
• Hands-on semiconductor cleanroom or high-tech manufacturing experience is a plus.
• On-site construction monitoring, tool hook-up coordination, or field inspection experience is desirable.
• Ability to read technical drawings and instrument specifications.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventive maintenance activities on failure analysis lab equipment (e.g., FIB, TEM, SEM, SIMS, OM).
• First-line tool troubleshooting and escalation to minimize downtime; document failures for vendor coordination.
• Lab Construction Coordination & Field Inspection for New Lab Startup; monitor progress against specs.
• Coordinate with Facilities teams and contractors for utility routing and installation.
• Safety walks and ensuring compliance with TSMC safety standards; elevate deviations as needed.
• Assist in equipment hook-up, commissioning, SAT coordination, and instrument setup.
• Track consumables and spare parts using LIMS and maintenance systems.
• Support continuous improvement projects and workflow optimizations when invited.
• Provide production and analysis support including sample prep, imaging, and material analysis.
• Handle chemicals safely following PPE protocols and maintain 6S housekeeping.
• Adhere to Environment, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
