Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to join our on-site teams at multiple US data centers. You will monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems, perform PMs, troubleshoot events, and support change management processes.

You will work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, including weekends, with overtime and night shift differentials. This role requires physical fitness and the ability to lift up to 39 pounds and work at heights.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and/or fire suppression systems.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotate schedules.
• Knowledge of network design and low voltage cabling is preferred.
• Experience in data center engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)./
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work complies with practices and local legislation.
• Role may require shifts up to 12 hours and rotating schedules; some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
