Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an on-site Data Center Facilities Technician to oversee electrical, mechanical, and fire/Life safety systems in our 24/7 data centers.

You will perform rounds, monitor critical infrastructure, troubleshoot incidents, and manage rack-level changes within established SLAs. The role requires hands-on experience with data center equipment, collaboration with contractors and vendors, and the ability to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or fire suppression systems.
• Willingness to work long shifts and on‑call rotations.
• Ability to work on-site in data center environments with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/Life safety equipment.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissions.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• Monitor work requests and drive projects from conception to completion.
• On-site coordination with contractors, sub-contractors and vendors per practices and local laws.
• Shifts can be up to 12 hours and rotate; some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
