Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an on-site Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to support the operation and maintenance of mission-critical data center infrastructure.

You will perform rounds, monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems, and assist in troubleshooting and change management within service level agreements. The role includes hands-on work with diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems, with rotating shift schedules and potential

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, and/or fire suppression systems.
• Able to bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working, use hands to manipulate wires and objects, and work at heights and from ladders.
• Able to lift/move up to 39 pounds and participate in group lifts up to 40+ pounds.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Write technical documentation to support change management.
