Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our on-site team responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure within our global network of data centers.

You will monitor power, cooling, fire/life safety equipment, and building automation systems to ensure 24/7 reliability. You will troubleshoot facility events, perform rack installations and decommissioning, and participate in PM activities while partnering with vendors and contractors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, and/or fire suppression systems.
• Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage cabling (preferred).
• Experience in data center engineering (preferred).
• Ability to work shifts longer than eight hours and lift up to 39 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA; perform rack installs and decommissioning.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Create technical writings to support change management; manage work requests to resolution.
• Execute projects from conception to completion; provide on-site support to contractors and vendors.
• Adapt work schedule (up to 12 hours) with rotating shifts and possible on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
