Job summary

Your Safe Haven, Inc. is seeking Part-Time On-Call Advocates to provide 24/7 crisis support from home, with in-person response as needed in Bedford County, PA. You’ll handle crisis calls, safety planning, and rights explanations, plus optional in-person hospital or law enforcement support.

We offer paid 80 hours of training and a 10-hour practicum, flexible on-call scheduling, and supervisor support by phone. Travel and mileage are reimbursed; prior experience is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of 80-hour advocate training and 10-hour practicum, plus certification.
• Calm, steady judgment in crisis and high-stress situations.
• Trauma-informed, survivor-centered communication and boundaries are essential.
• Independent work with remote supervision; reliable phone access.
• Background checks and clearances obtained upon hire; costs reimbursed.
• In-person response requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Answer crisis hotline calls during scheduled on-call shifts.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Help survivors understand rights and options and connect to resources.
• Document interactions accurately and hand off cases to full-time advocates.
• Travel within Bedford County for in-person responses when needed.
