Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Furnace Melt Operator for the 1st shift at a Cedarburg, WI location. You will operate and maintain industrial melting furnaces, load and skim metal, and pull lab samples to ensure alloy quality for high-pressure aluminum die-casting processes.

This direct-hire role offers stable daytime hours (6:00 AM - 2:15 PM), competitive hourly pay up to $31.00/hr, and benefits including health/dental, 401(k) match, and attendance-based bonus PTO opportunities.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Job stability: minimum 2+ years at each previous employer.
• Foundry/melt operations: experience operating industrial furnaces or heavy manufacturing melt equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate & Charge Furnaces: Set up, load, and operate industrial melting furnaces with ingot, sows, and scrap according to melt specs.
• Tap & Skim Molten Metal: Tap furnaces and skim impurities, maintaining temperature and cleanliness standards.
• Pull Samples for Quality Analysis: Collect samples and submit to metallurgy lab for alloy verification.
• Perform Basic Furnace Maintenance: Clean furnaces, burner wells, and transfer equipment; assist with basic maintenance work orders.
• Operate Material Handling Equipment: Use forklift and hoists to move ingots, sows, and finished product.
• Track Production & Documentation: Log quantities moved and maintain attendance and quality records.
• Enforce Safety & 5S Standards: Follow OSHA rules, Lockout/Tagout, PPE for hot metal, and 5S in the shop.
