Job summary

L’Anse Creuse Public Schools is seeking a 1 on 1 SACC Special Education Paraprofessional for the morning shift. The role supports the classroom teacher, helps develop and present learning activities, and communicates effectively with instructors and students.

Required are two years of college credit or equivalent, and the ability to assist at‑risk students in a classroom and tutoring setting. Michigan teaching certificate is preferred, with training obligations as stated.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credit, an associate’s degree or passage of a State approved test required. Michigan teaching certificate preferred.
• Ability to assist the classroom instructor with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and work with individual classroom instructors.
• Experience working with students.
• Ability to assist academically at-risk students in a classroom setting and in a individual tutoring.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Report Time:

Monday through Friday– 6:15 am – 9:00 am

Required training 16 hours per calendar year
