Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional at Sage Canyon Middle to support SPED students in the resource classroom, assisting with instruction, behavior monitoring and daily living skills. Hours per day are 3, with two lanes on pay scale and in-district training offered to qualify for lane 6.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must complete mandatory employee training within first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities under supervision to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Provide first aid and medical assistance as instructed.
• Administer tests and assignments to support learning objectives.
• Monitor student progress and behavior.
• Assist students with self-care activities and daily living skills.
• Support instruction and reinforce learning concepts for individuals or groups.
• Attend trainings and meetings to stay informed on job functions.
• Communicate with supervising staff regarding progress and IEP/504 objectives.
• Model positive social and behavioral skills for students.
• Maintain organized records and classroom materials.
