Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional to support classroom instruction for students with special needs in a resource setting. The role involves adapting activities, providing basic medical aid, and assisting with instructional tasks under teacher supervision.

Positions run 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday. This is a part-time non-benefit role with opportunities to train in-district. Compensation is hourly with lane progression from untrained to trained levels.

Qualifications

• Age 16+ and capable of supporting students with special needs.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must complete mandatory employee training within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials to support classroom objectives and IEP goals.
• Provides first aid and basic medical assistance as instructed.
• Assists teachers with tests, homework and make-up work.
• Maintains records and supports clerical tasks for teachers.
• Monitors student behavior and ensures a safe learning environment.
• Supports students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Communicates progress and incidents to instructional staff.
