Job summary

Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp) is seeking experienced tutors for 1:1 ESL instruction with students in the US, Canada, and Asia. You’ll schedule and conduct 50-minute lessons with Singaporean and Hong Kong-based students using the Cosmo curriculum.

As an independent contractor, you set a flexible weekly schedule, maintain reliability, and foster a welcoming learning environment. A bachelor’s degree and prior K-12 ESL experience are required; TEFL is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required for teaching K-12 ELA/ESL or EFL.
• Three years of teaching experience for grades K-12 ELA, ESL, or EFL.
• Experience with K-12 ELA standards and lesson planning.
• TEFL certificate preferred but not required.
• Reliable internet and a Windows or Mac PC with a capable CPU.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1-on-1 instruction for each student.
• Update availability in the Cosmo App promptly.
• Prepare age- and ability-appropriate lesson materials.
• Submit class feedback after each lesson.
• Communicate professionally with parents and students.
• Attend all classes on time in a suitable online setting.
