Job summary

Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp) seeks tutors for ESL instruction with 1:1 sessions for students in the US, Canada, and Asia. You will teach ESL to students from Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum, maintaining a reliable weekly schedule and a positive classroom environment.

As an independent contractor, you will conduct 50-minute lessons, aiming for on-time delivery, preparation of materials, and timely feedback, while coordinating with Cosmo staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 3 years of teaching experience with grades K-12 in ELA, ESL, or EFL.
• Experience with K-12 ELA standards.
• Fast and reliable internet connection and a Windows or Mac PC.
• Available 6–9 AM EST Monday–Friday or weekends; minimum 20 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1-on-1 instruction for students.
• Update availability in the Cosmo App.
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student’s age and ability.
• Submit class feedback after each lesson.
• Communicate with parents and students professionally.
• Attend all classes on time in a professional setting.
• Communicate with Cosmo staff.
