Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking staff to support K-12 students requiring additional supports in in-district classrooms or standalone schools.

You will implement behavior support plans, work one-on-one with students, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic guidance and support. Role involves daily interaction with students with intensive behavioral needs, recording progress, and applying de-escalation techniques as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Experience working in educational settings implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals in their IEP.
• Assist in development/modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and record data on behaviors and progress toward goals.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Apply de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and, if necessary, physical restraint for safety.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment to develop appropriate social/behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure safety during travel to and from locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed based on student needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
