Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) invites compassionate paraprofessionals to join our team in supporting K-12 students requiring additional behavioral supports.

You’ll work closely with students under IEP goals, providing individualized behavior strategies and data-driven progress tracking. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll collaborate with educators to implement CASE PBIS approaches, maintain safe classroom environments, and engage families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a setting with diverse students from varying backgrounds.
• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals set forth in their IEP.
• Assist in the development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages development of social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure they are always monitored.
• Work with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent implementation of plans.
• Provide personal care support depending on student needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
