Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) seeks a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students with intensive behavioral needs within a school setting. You will work one-on-one under IEP goals, implementing behavior plans and data-tracking to monitor progress.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic guidance, apply de-escalation techniques, and provide personal care as needed, within a supportive, student-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a setting with diverse students from varying backgrounds.
• One-on-one work with an assigned student to meet goals in their IEP, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages social and behavioral development.
• Supervise students and ensure safety during movement to and from locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent implementation of plans.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
