Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Experienced Software Engineer based in Turkey for a partner company delivering scalable products to millions of users worldwide.

You will work across backend and frontend systems in a fully distributed, remote setup, collaborating across time zones and disciplines. The role emphasizes quality, performance, and thoughtful engineering in a dynamic environment, with travel of 3–4 weeks annually.

Qualifications

• Professional software engineer with production-quality delivery experience.
• Experience with multiple languages; PHP and JavaScript proficiency expected.
• Experience at scale: backend, performance optimization, infrastructure complexity.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with curiosity.
• Ability to reason across abstraction layers and architectural trade-offs.
• High emphasis on engineering quality, maintainability, reliability, and performance.
• Willingness to work in a fully distributed remote environment with good communication.
• Willingness to travel ~3–4 weeks per year for in-person team gatherings.
• Strong written and verbal communication and growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software across a broad ecosystem.
• Solve complex problems through debugging, investigation, and thoughtful decisions.
• Work across layers of the stack to optimize performance, reliability, and user experience.
• Contribute to products spanning content publishing, e-commerce, social platforms, and web experiences.
• Develop scalable backend and frontend systems for high traffic and large data.
• Participate in frequent production deployments with CI, reviews, and testing.
• Collaborate across teams and contribute ideas through global channels.
• Contribute to open-source projects and engineering practices where appropriate.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs and apply sound judgment on abstractions and tooling.
• Adopt modern development approaches, including AI-assisted workflows, when valuable.
• Continuously improve skills, practices, and product knowledge while sharing expertise.
