Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for an experienced engineer to conduct calculations and manage projects related to gas, chemical, and water waste systems. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and has at least 2 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include leading design documentation, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering technical guidance. Proficiency in AutoCAD and project management skills are essential for this role.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering roles related to gas, chemical, or water waste systems.
- Strong expertise in engineering calculations and detailed design development.
- Experience with process safety management, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and review engineering calculations for equipment sizing and system design.
- Lead the development of detailed design documents such as PFDs and P&IDs.
- Oversee coordination with multidisciplinary teams for system integration.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and enhance safety and reliability.

- Lead the development of detailed design documents, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and system layouts.
- Oversee and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of gas, chemical, and water waste systems into overall project designs.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements for gas and chemical systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, process hazard analyses (PHA), HAZOP, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to enhance safety and reliability.
- Evaluate new technologies and engineering solutions to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring high‑quality design and implementation.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication, ensuring successful project execution.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendors to assess equipment specifications, cost analysis, and supplier qualifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges, implementing best practices for system optimization.
- Perform any ad‑hoc duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering roles related to gas, chemical, or water waste systems.
