A leading engineering firm based in Singapore is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee M&E engineering projects and EV charger deployments. Busways Pte Ltd, formally known as Busways Engineering Services Pte Ltd, was officially registered in May 2006 as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering contractor with the 5 principal activities as follows:
Supply and Installation of Electrical 22kV, LV and MV Busducts, Primary Power Distribution Network Equipment and Cabling Infrastructures.
Design, Customisation, Fabrication & Installation of Cable Containment System
Design, Customisation, Fabrication & Installation of Metal Works
Design & Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging System
Supply & Installation of High Voltage Switchgear
Lead and oversee end-to-end operations across M&E engineering projects and EV charger deployment, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery.
Oversee the development, implementation and continuous monitoring of robust measurement systems to quantify the organization’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, ensuring data integrity for mandatory reporting and strategic decision-making.
Translate the company’s strategic vision into operational roadmaps for engineering execution, EV infrastructure rollouts, and service excellence.
Drive project governance across multiple concurrent M&E and EV charging sites – from design, procurement, installation, testing, to commissioning.
Build and mentor cross-functional teams (engineering, project management, site operations, HSE, procurement) to strengthen delivery capability and technical depth.
Encompass the seamless implementation of the ERP system across all engineering works with established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ISO-aligned quality systems for engineering works and EV charger installation/maintenance.
Manage the entire supply chain from material sourcing to customer delivery, working with the procurement team to negotiate contracts, monitor vendor performance and implement best practices for cost savings and operational resilience.
Define and monitor KPIs for project delivery performance, site productivity, safety compliance, and customer handover satisfaction.
Ensure full compliance with BCA, LTA, EMA, and EV charging regulatory standards – including electrical safety codes, grid connection requirements, and environmental regulations.
Partner with the CEO and CFO on resource planning, capex allocation, and business expansion into new EV charging markets or M&E verticals.
Engage key stakeholders: developers, landlords, EPC contractors, utilities, and government agencies to accelerate project approvals and grid connectivity.
Champion a culture of technical excellence, safety leadership, and continuous improvement across all operational layers.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Built Environment; MBA or Master’s in Engineering Management preferred.
Minimum 8 years of operational leadership in M&E projects, infrastructure deployment, or EV charging rollouts – with at least 3 years in a senior role managing multi-site operations.
Proven track record in delivering complex engineering projects (commercial, industrial, or infrastructure) within time, cost, and quality parameters.
Strong project management acumen – PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
Deep familiarity with Singapore regulatory landscape: BCA, LTA, EMA, electrical licensing, and EV charging standards.
Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-scaling, high-growth environment.
Strategic thinker with tactical execution rigor – able to balance long-term capability building with short-term delivery pressure.
High adaptability, tech-savvy, and growth mindset – comfortable in a tech-driven, sustainability-focused business.
Prior experience in EV charging, energy infrastructure, or smart city projects is a strong advantage.
