We are looking for an experienced and proactive Assistant Heat Exchanger Thermal & Mechanical Design Manager to manage the complete design process for heat exchangers from concept to fabrication. This role combines deep technical expertise in both thermal-hydraulic design and mechanical code compliance with managerial responsibilities, including team supervision and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of thermal and mechanical design engineers.
· Allocate engineering tasks and monitor progress to meet project deadlines and milestones.
· Coordinate with project management, procurement, QA/QC, and fabrication teams throughout the project lifecycle.
· Conduct technical reviews and design optimization discussions.
· Review client specifications and ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
· Serve as the primary technical contact for clients during design reviews and technical clarifications.
· Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and engineering practices.
· Support proposal and estimation teams with thermal and mechanical design inputs during bid stages.
· Track engineering deliverables and report project status to senior management.
· Ensure designs meet safety, performance, and cost objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in thermal & mechanical design of heat exchangers & pressure vessels.
Minimum 2 years in a lead or supervisory engineering role.
Proficiency in thermal design software (HTRI, Aspen EDR, etc.) and pressure vessel design software (eg. PVELite, Autopipe-Vessel, etc)
Deep understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and pressure vessel design codes.
Familiarity with international design codes and standards (TEMA, ASME VIII, API 660, etc.).
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
