Data Scientist jobs in United Arab Emirates

Candidates are responsible for the Business Intelligence needs of the regional HQ, particularly the senior management team. This includes management of data extracts from multiple key systems, setting up and maintenance of the data-models, designing of BI dashboards (PowerBI), deployment & presentation of BI dashboards and user training. You will also be managing the Sharepoint & Microsoft Forms platforms, promoting workplace collaboration.

Essential Knowledge Required

• Experienced with database management
• Extensive technical knowledge of data extract, transform & load (ETL) process
• Ability to analyse and draw insights to datasets
• Experienced with system integration, creating data relations between multiple data sources and meaningful dashboards for the business needs
• Strong process, quality assurance, incident, problem management, as well as experience in vendor management and support outsourcing arrangements
• Functional understanding of project management principles
• Ability to work with the other TS teams (Infra & Apps) to improve current systems/dashboards
• Ability to understand and offer suggestions to business needs in terms of BI

Responsibilities

• Ensure that team members are performing at a high level of standards to meet the needs of the organization; collecting feedback to support the objective assessment of individual and team performance
• Maintain up-to-date with best practice data strategies to support the needs of the business
• Ensure system up-time and stability for PowerBI and Sharepoint
• Ensure data accuracy of the BI dashboards
• Ensure key users are well trained and equipped with the necessary data analysis tools and knowledge
• Provide timely updates to Management
• Collaborate with the appropriate units to develop and maintain technology plans that support company needs
• Develop and communicate business / technology alignment plans to internal and external stakeholders
• Identifying relevant data sources for business needs
• Collecting structured and unstructured data
• Sourcing missing data
• Organizing data into usable formats
• Building predictive models
• Building machine learning algorithms
• Enhancing the data collection process
• Processing, cleansing & verifying of data
• Analyzing data for trends and patterns and to find answers to specific questions
• Setting up data infrastructure
• Develop, implement and maintain databases
• Assess quality of data and remove or clean data
• Generating information and insights from data sets and identifying trends and patterns
• Preparing reports for executive and project

Pre-Requisite

• Degree in Computer Science or related technology disciplines; with equivalent business experience and at least 10 years' progressive working experience in medium to large organisations
• At least five years in a management role in handling BI platforms
