MetaComp is seeking a data-driven and analytical Data Analyst to join the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) function within the Compliance Department.
You will play a key role in supporting the AML Director through data-driven analysis of transactional activity, backtesting of monitoring rules, and providing insights to enhance the firm’s financial crime detection framework.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of transactional and customer data to identify anomalies, typologies, and emerging AML/CFT risks.
- Perform backtesting and effectiveness reviews of existing transaction monitoring rules and scenarios.
- Provide data-driven recommendations for rule tuning, new scenario implementation, and parameter adjustments.
- Support AML investigations through detailed data extraction, linkage analysis, and trend identification.
- Prepare management information (MI) reports and dashboards for AML and FCC performance tracking.
- Use SQL, Python, or equivalent tools for data extraction, cleaning, and advanced analysis.
- Validate data quality and completeness across FCC-related data sources to ensure reliability of monitoring outputs.
- Support periodic AML/CFT risk assessments and thematic reviews by providing quantitative insights.
- Assist in regulatory reporting and audits by supplying relevant data and analytical support.
- Maintain documentation of analytical logic, testing results, and methodologies for audit and governance purposes.
- Collaborate with AML investigators, compliance officers, and technology teams to ensure findings are properly assessed and actioned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in data analytics or AML/FCC functions, preferably in fintech, payments, or financial institutions.
- Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Familiarity with JSON data formats, APIs, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Good understanding of AML/CFT regulations, transaction monitoring, and alert management processes.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable compliance recommendations.
- Effective communicator, comfortable working across Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams.
Preferred Characteristics
- Experience conducting rule performance reviews or backtesting in transaction monitoring systems.
- Exposure to digital asset or blockchain transaction analytics.
- Passion for leveraging data and technology to enhance AML/CFT compliance effectiveness.
