Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Boiler & Steam Plant Operations:
    • Operate, monitor, and control high-pressure boiler systems, steam generators, and hot water heating systems.
    • Perform routine testing (e.g., water quality, blowdown) and adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency and safety.
    • Start up and shut down systems following strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul:
    • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, steam traps, condensate return systems, pumps, valves, and associated piping.
    • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble boiler components and auxiliaries.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical and control system faults to minimize production downtime.
  • Chemical Handling & Water Treatment:
    • Handle, dose, and monitor water treatment chemicals safely and accurately to maintain proper boiler feedwater and cooling water chemistry.
    • Perform chemical tests and interpret results to prevent scaling, corrosion, and fouling.
    • Maintain accurate logs of chemical usage, inventory, and safety data sheets (SDS).
  • Safety, Compliance & Documentation:
    • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and working with high-pressure/high-temperature systems.
    • Ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations specific to pharmaceutical utilities.
    • Document all maintenance activities, inspections, and deviations accurately within the site's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Requirements
  • Minimum2 years of hands-on experiencein theoperation and maintenance of industrial boiler systems and steam plants.
  • Proven experience in acritical or regulated environment is essential(Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Chemical Plant, or similar).
  • Practical knowledge ofwater treatment principles and safe chemical handling.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping, pumps, and controls related to steam and hot water.
  • Possess good proficiency in English, with the ability to understand and follow detailed SOPs and protocols.
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, Process Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Possession of a valid BCA SEC(K) Certificate in a relevant construction trade.
