Job summary

A recruitment agency in Singapore is looking for a logistics coordinator to manage shipping documents and payments, handle customer communications, and assist in contract negotiations. Ideal candidates should have a diploma, 1-3 years of bulk shipment experience, and proficiency in Mandarin. Strong knowledge of Incoterms and logistics process is essential for success in this role. Qualifications

Job Description
  • Prepare, monitor, and verify all shipping documents from suppliers. Accurately send shipping instructions and a full set of documents to relevant parties in a timely manner. Ensure all documents are filed and maintained properly.
  • Arrange timely payments to suppliers and monitor receivables from customers. Proactively check on credit line requirements, facilitate their application, and elevate any potential issues to management.
  • Handle internal systems (e.g., SAP, NNFS) to record all transaction data. Accurately input monthly closing entries and provide shipping documents to the accounting department for proper profit and loss management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for timely communication with customers, suppliers, and shipping companies. Proactively remind all parties of deadlines and provide necessary documents in a strict and timely fashion, both verbally and in writing.
  • Assist the Operation Manager and Traders in contract negotiations, dispatch, and demurrage negotiations to ensure timely and effective settlements.
Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma Holder with 1‑3 years’ experience in bulk shipment (preferred with base metals experience)
  • Strong knowledge of bulk shipment logistics, Incoterms (FOB, CFR, CIF, etc.), Letters of Credit, and the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600) and Uniform Rules for Collections (URC 522).
  • Candidates with proficiency in Mandarin due to the need to liaise with Chinese speaking clients/counterparts.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A high degree of diligence and accuracy in accomplishing tasks, with a strong focus on thoroughness in all areas of work.
