A technology startup in Singapore is looking for an experienced architect to design and implement software architecture, mentor teams, and optimize systems for their products. Job description

Location: Paya Lebar
Working Hours: Monday – Saturday, 9:00am – 7:00pm (Lunch: 12:00pm – 1:30pm)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and define the overall software architecture for the company’s products, developing robust technical solutions and continuously optimising systems to address complex technical challenges.

• Take ownership of system architecture by leading the resolution of critical technical issues and ensuring platform performance, security, stability, and high availability.

• Establish and maintain technical standards and architectural specifications; participate in architecture design reviews and code reviews to ensure best practices.

• Mentor and guide development teams to improve code quality, architectural consistency, and engineering standards.

• Stay current with emerging technologies, proactively sharing insights and best practices to drive continuous technical improvement.

• Design and implement comprehensive system and application security architectures.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in large-scale system architecture design and at least 5 years of experience in Internet or enterprise application development.

• Strong hands-on experience with distributed service frameworks such as Dubbo and Spring Cloud, including microservices architecture and governance.

• Solid practical knowledge of middleware and databases such as Elasticsearch, Message Queues (MQ), Redis, MongoDB, and MySQL.

• Ability to support full-stack technical needs within the IT function and propose scalable, feasible technical solutions.

• Strong expertise in architectural layering, system optimisation, and code performance tuning, with clear architectural thinking.

• Good understanding of both technical and business architectures, with the ability to design system and data architectures based on business requirements.

• Proven track record of independently leading or architecting medium-to-large-scale systems or Internet platforms.

• Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, excellent leadership and requirements analysis skills, and strong communication and coordination abilities.

• A collaborative team player capable of motivating teams and driving high performance.
