Job Description

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Surgical Patient Care Assistants to support our surgical and nursing teams. This entry-level role is ideal for those with a love for animals and an interest in building a career in veterinary healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily care and comfort for surgical patients, including feeding, cleaning, and handling.
• Assist nurses and veterinarians in preparing patients for surgery and monitoring recovery.
• Help maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and readiness of the surgical wards and hospital areas.
• Support the team in monitoring patients and reporting observations.
• Ensure excellent client service and communication when interacting with pet owners.
• Participate in shift rotations, including some weekends and public holidays.

Requirements

• No prior experience required; animal handling or volunteering at shelters is an advantage.
• Strong passion for animals, with focus and dedication to patient care.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable working weekends and on a rotating schedule that includes some public holidays (time off given in lieu).
