Job summary

Compassvale Secondary School is recruiting a School Discipline Support staff to assist with investigations into misconduct, engage with students and parents, and support well-being initiatives. The role involves patrolling, supervising disciplinary activities, and coordinating with welfare teams during assigned hours.

You will also conduct fact-finding, write reports, maintain confidential records, and support admin tasks during home-based learning days and holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to remain calm under pressure during disciplinary incidents.
• Engage positively with students under 16 and support behavioural growth.
• Confident in managing challenging behaviour and difficult conversations.
• Conduct fact-finding, write reports and maintain confidential case records.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and Google Drive applications.
• Familiarity with restorative practices and case management processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the discipline team with investigations into misconduct and record findings.
• Address uniform/grooming issues and support discipline management during hours.
• Provide pastoral guidance and identify early warning signs for at-risk students.
• Patrol premises and supervise in-school suspension, detention, and activities.
• Review CCTV footage for investigations and case management where needed.
• Support restorative conversations and follow-up with counsellors and welfare teams.
• Communicate actions to parents and involve guardians in student improvement.
• Attend case meetings and coordinate with REACH teams and Social Service Agencies.
• Assist with examination escorts and provide admin/technical support shifts.
• Support admin and operations duties during home-based learning days and holidays.
