Job summary

AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm delivering projects across water, environment, energy, transportation and buildings. We seek a senior commercial/contract leader to manage pre- and post-contract activities and lead complex bids.

You will oversee risk, procurement, variations, and claims, while guiding governance, stakeholder engagement, and commercial strategy with public and private sector clients in Singapore and the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline as listed.
• 15+ years of commercial or contract management experience in consulting.
• Full lifecycle experience: pre-contract (bidding, risk, procurement) and post-contract (variations, claims, dispute resolution).
• Experience drafting and negotiating bespoke agreements for large pursuits.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial law (FIDIC, NEC3/NEC4, JCT).
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial reviews of tender documents; identify risks, opportunities, and key commercial positions.
• Lead or support contract negotiations with clients, including bespoke and project-specific agreements.
• Coordinate commercial inputs with finance, legal, HR, insurance, tax, and risk management; support submissions to the Asia Risk Committee.
• Undertake contract/commercial risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies for bids.
• Establish and enforce rigorous change control; manage variations from scope to valuation and settlement.
• Prepare and evaluate claims; negotiate settlements on AECOM’s behalf.
• Interpret contract scope and communicate what constitutes additional work from design changes or client-driven developments.
• Support project teams in negotiating terms for subcontracts and subconsultant services.
• Reinforce governance and standardize commercial models and processes; coach project directors and managers.
